🛑 Crash to Desktop (CTD) on Game Loading

If the game crashes to desktop while loading, try the following fixes:

  • ✅ Disable Auto HDR (Windows)
    • Right-click on your desktop and select Display settings.
    • Scroll down to HDR settings.
    • Toggle Auto HDR ❌ Off.
  • ✅ Disable Motion Blur (NVIDIA Control Panel)
    • Right-click on your desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel.
    • Go to Manage 3D settings.
    • Locate Motion Blur / Smooth Blur.
    • Set it to ❌ Off and apply changes.
After applying these changes, restart the game and check if the issue is resolved.

About antivirus alerts

  • Some vendors may flag a false positive.
  • The installer downloads required Microsoft VC++ Redistributables.
  • The installer updates the Windows HOSTS file to block telemetry domains: 
    127.0.0.1 cat-st1.wargaming.net
127.0.0.1 cat-cn.wargaming.net
127.0.0.1 cat.wargaming.net
Tip: If your AV flags the installer, temporarily whitelist it, install, then re-enable protection.

🌐 In-Game Browser Not Working (ALT + H)

If you’re experiencing issues with the in-game browser (ALT + H not opening, blank window, or loading errors),
this is usually related to the CEF browser module.

Step 1 — Check your antivirus
• Open your antivirus logs or quarantine history.
• Look for cef_browser.exe.
• If it was blocked or removed, add an exception and restore the file.

If everything looks clean, follow the steps below carefully:

  1. 🔄 Restart your PC.
  2. 📁 Open your game installation folder.
  3. 🗑️ Delete the entire win64 folder.
  4. 🛠️ Restore the game client using this guide:
    https://b4it.org/fix/
  5. 🛡️ Launch the game once with administrator rights.
  6. ❌ Close the game completely.
  7. ▶️ Launch the game again without administrator rights.
  8. ⌨️ In the garage, press ALT + H to open the in-game browser.
Tip: This procedure forces the game to rebuild the browser subsystem correctly.
